EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Bimonthly cultural programmes are arranged for the children to make them perform their cultural talents. In each home, students are divided into 5 groups and motivated to present good cultural programmes. Children are encouraged to exhibit their talents through variety of cultural programmes and indoor and outdoor games. The winners were awarded with prizes in order to encourage them to continue their efforts.

MUSIC COURSES
Music courses were also arranged and organized during summer vacation. We are teaching the music course to the tsunami affected school going children as a natural medicine for their soul and mind to enjoy its fullness and as a therapy to rectify the existing disorder of the brain and to sooth their pain and unpleasant feelings caused out of tsunami.

PICNICS AND TOUR
Once a month, picnic was regularly arranged for the grieved and tsunami affected children in order to make them happy, become friends and socialize with one another. Tour was also arranged to make them enjoy as well as learn from it.

CHILDREN’S CAMP
During annual holidays, children’s camp was organized in the month of May in which students had get-together and moral classes. Sports and games were also arranged to exhibit their sports skills. Cultural programmes were also conducted to nurture the talents of the children. In each children’s camp, nearly 175 children participated and benefited. The highlight of the camp was value and moral education. Children are taught through joyful learning and play-way methodologies of education. Children are also taught to be good leaders in living out the qualities of leaders.

NON-FORMAL EDUCATION
Non-Formal Education (NFE) centers run by us create an impact in the life of children. NFE functions as their study center and at the same time, it is a creative recreation center. As Saswad witnesses the highest number of child labourers and girls become dropouts, 220 NFE centers are established by us at the village level. We are taking constant steps to considerably reduce the school dropout rate.
We would be ever thankful to you if you could kindly extend your support to DMI in order to help the beneficiaries in whatever way you could. Your generosity is an essential ingredient to our success now and in the years to come.
