The Society of Missionaries of Mary Immaculate (MMI) is an Apostolic Society, founded by Rev. Fr. J.E.Arul Raj OMI on 27th May, 1998 along with the DMI society and was approved by His grace, the Most Rev. Dr. Victorio Pavanello, SDB Archbishop of Campo Grande, Brazil. All these years, God has been helping us to grow not only in our spirituality and Charism but also in numbers and expand our missionary activities in different parts of Latin American countries, African countries and in India.
The mission of MMI will be in line with the mission of DMI to reach out to the unreached and the neglected. The society of MMI has been started not for just for promoting more priests but also to create more missionaries who would really share the values of Christ with the poor.
The Evangelical perspective of the Society of MMI is humanization and emancipation of the people who would accept the values of Christ as preached by Him. The MMI process is viewed as one of the DMIs continued efforts in the filed of 'evangelization today'.

The Mission
Loving God in serving the poor to be fully human and fully alive is the charism and mission of MMI which drives and directs the organization to serve the needy.
THE VISION
In today's context, seeing God in every sufferings of human being (Women and Children) who live in human bondages of ignorance, ill-health, illiteracy and economical slavery, striving and struggling along with them to empower by their collective action to creative new world where the justice, peace and equality are ensured to all. The MMI extends its services in India, Tanzania and Brazil.
Our Spirituality
MMI, being a Missionary Society, will carry the Word of God in our hearts, in our minds and in our actions. Living and preaching the Word of God is the center of our life. We receive our fulfillment of the ministry entrusted to us.
The Eucharist becomes the Center of our life. It gives direction to carry out our mission. The MMIs strongly believe the teachings of the Church and faithfully follow the directives of the local Episcopal Conferences.
We base our Spirituality on reading the Word, listening to it, meditating it and above all acting upon it individually and collectively as a community. Every MMI, while spending a minimum of an hour of Meditation everyday will faithfully follow the Liturgy of the Hours. Daily examination, of Conscience is faithfully practiced. A day of Recollection every month along with Confession and an annual Retreat of six full days strengthens the commitment of every MMI.
The Formation
During the years of Formation, every MMI is guided to inculcate the Word of God and discern the call of God and respond to it accordingly. Every MMI is called to be an apostle, a missionary and a prophet capable of thinking meaningfully in the light of the Gospel and analyzing objectively. He prepares himself to respond to the challenges of the signs of the times by sharing the life of the poor and the needy, among whom he lives and serves.
